About the Lovelace Fam

Both creatives at heart, Cole and Mackenzie Lovelace are two married ‘makers’ based in San Diego, California. The Lovelace’s have been able to spend more and more time in their creative pursuits, and since it all happens under the same roof, Lovelace Made, a ‘house of makers,’ just makes sense.

Here you can learn more about what the Lovelace family is creating, what inspires them, their creative processes, and how to get in touch to have something unique made.

Cole creates handmade, functional woodworking furniture and utility pieces that speak to the modern aesthetic. For Cole, being creative has always been in his blood, whether it be through music, writing, or woodworking. Woodworking had taken a backseat for a while but he now has the opportunity to invest more time into his passion.

Similarly, Mackenzie has always had a behind-the-scenes hobby with art. She has practiced with many various mediums, but her primary medium of choice is pastels and charcoals. Through landscapes, florals, and portraits, Mackenzie works to create works of art with a harmonious aesthetic and bold textures.

The Lovelaces hail from, and currently reside in San Diego, CA. They enjoy the outdoors, hanging with friends, and spending time with their sweet puppy Jolene. They recently welcomed their first son, Leon to the family and is keeping them busy day in and day out!

Woodworking

Taking what has been created to create something else is a humbling experience that always strikes me. I am blessed to have "making" be a part of my life. From the grain, to dimension, to color, a quality piece starts with the right selection of materials. With that, I'm always designing and planning to have as little waste a possible. My favorite designs tend to have a duality to them. Clean, but organic. Subtle, but strong. Simple, yet complex. I guess that's driven from the original form of the material.

Works of Art

As a visual artist, I work primarily with charcoals and pencils. Self-taught, I mix traditional and contemporary styles that tread the line of modern and moody. Inspired by nature, my previous work series include landscapes, florals, and specialized portraits, as I love creating pieces that force me to take on a new perspective. Custom portraits are available upon request as well as limited edition prints.
